We use lots of different Lush solid soaps in our house and so have lots of these tins - It's true that they might be better if they were a teeny, tiny bit larger - but, as long as we treat the solid shampoo bar the way it's supposed to be treated (not getting it too wet or letting it go soft)and keep the tin dry, it works perfectly well. It's just common sense.
I always leave the lid off after I've put the bar back into the tin, to make sure it's nice and dry again before the lid goes on.
I like that the tins last and last, even though they seem to be made of very thin metal. I'd rather the 3 or 4 of these which will last us for decades, than a fresh plastic bottle needing disposed of every week for the rest of our lives.

The tin is a great idea, especially for the strong smelling shampoo bars like Soak and Float, but it is too small! The shampoo bar gets stuck to the bottom after it gets wet, and there is no room to get it out except with a knife or something similar The lid is also hard to open, especially when the tin or your hands are wet. I would recommend getting the square tin that they make for body butters instead, because it leaves more room to get the shampoo bar unstuck.

Comments about LUSH Shampoo Bar Tin:
While this is a great product in theory, and I certainly don't mind free things, this product isn't the best. I would rather have a case with an open bottom to let moisture out if possible. If not properly cleaned after every use, if exposed to any moisture, this thing can get pretty moldy. Also, if exposed to open water this will rust and ruin the shampoo puck. Not to mention this is very hard to open- I find the easiest way to open it is to chuck it at the floor. No joke. It's a great idea and tool, but I wish it was more practical. Then again, it's not like anyone is out there offering anything better either.

The product is very easy to use, though the bars fit very snugly into the tin. It is extremely convenient, and great for travel (camping, etc.). Also a great value. I will buy at least 1 more!!

Comments about LUSH Shampoo Bar Tin:
The price for a simple tin seems a little bit high, but in my mind this tin is a necessity. I don't want my precious shampoo bar to be eroded by the shower spray and waste away! I could just use a regular travel soap box, I guess, but I like that this tin fits the bars exactly (so that it takes up very little space). Sometimes the bar gets a little bit stuck, but it's nothing a few good thumps on the bottom of the tin can't fix.

Comments about LUSH Shampoo Bar Tin:
This just falls flat of being the perfect container for those wonderful shampoo bars and solid conditioners-- the concept is great and I like the design and overall fit. But even when they're not wet, my bars ALWAYS stick to the bottom of these tins. I have to give the bottom a good smack with the lid loosely on it to get the bar to come out. I think that they need to be just a few millimeters wider so one could get their fingers in there to pry bars out, and/or have a different surface on the bottom that makes bars less prone to sticking. I otherwise recommend them for use in small bathrooms where the shower sprays on EVERYTHING; I keep them in the tins to prevent them from getting worn down and keep the tins loosely covered. But the tins are perfect for taking your shampoo and conditioner bars on the road/plane, I'd be really happy with them if the bars didn't stick so much.

Comments about LUSH Shampoo Bar Tin:
I figured this would be perfect for my solid shampoo, and nice and compact for traveling or toting it in my gym bag. After a couple of months of use, it got wedged shut, and I can't open it no matter what I try. I don't want to throw it out because it'd be a waste, but I can't open it.
It would be great if this were a tad larger, so the shampoo fit inside easier, and if this had either a screw-on lid or a hinge top, to prevent it from getting stuck and so I could open it in the shower.

I just bought 2 more of these so I have about 5 I gave one away to my best friend when I got her Karma Komba. These things work once you figure it out.
I always open it before my shower and leave it close by to grab. After I use it I put the top on very lightly till I can get it by the window.
There I keep it open and dry one side then flip it over then I can close it. That way I avoid having issues with loosing some of my bar onto the container and can always use it without struggling to open it.
My fiance is funny he uses it in the LUSH container and just rubs it on his hair that way :)

I found that the shampoo bars stick to the bottom of the tin. I use the lid instead and leave it on the edge of the tub away from moisture to dry after use. Works like a charm.
Service and delivery comments:
delivery was prompt considering it was coming from Canada and the products arrived well packaged and protected.

Hard to open with wet fingers, but great for keeping product dry and within reach. If it had a hinge instead of a pop top lid, it might make it easier when in the shower

I was hesitant to bother with these tins after all the negative comments but since they were free, thought I'd give it a shot. I was really impressed with how well these tins are working for me. Here's my secret: I put the bar (wet!) in the tin but store it upside down (so the lid is on bottom). I've been doing this for about 2 months and have not had a problem getting out the bar - ever. Oh also, as for putting a completely new bar in the tin for the first time, no problem there either.

Comments about LUSH Shampoo Bar Tin:
the tin is way too small for a fresh, plump shampoo puck. when i must use one (i do rotate pucks) i find it's best to let the bar dry on a soap dish or in the tin lid, not inside the tin itself. you don't have to worry about prying it off of the lid as you can safely rake the whole thing over your wet hair without snagging strands. if possible, forgo the round tin and get one of the square ones made for the massage bars (do they still make those?). plenty of room for prying fingers with the square tin.

Comments about LUSH Shampoo Bar Tin:
I got two shampoo bars for my birthday and love them both! I got the tin with one of them and I guess it's okay. It's really hard to open even when I'm outside the shower. I literally has to get out and ask someone to open it! It is a great idea though! I set the lid on, but don't close it all the way. It keeps the shampoo bar dry so I think it gets 4 stars!
Comments about LUSH Shampoo Bar Tin:
I give this product brownie points for being a good idea and looking nice, but ultimately, it's a waste of money. These things are IMPOSSIBLE to open. I've just labored to open mine and the only thing that got it open was a knife shoved under the lid. now it's ruined. Oh well!

Comments about LUSH Shampoo Bar Tin:
The shampoo tin is worth it if you get it for free. It's great for holding most of the shampoo bars, especially for travel. I gave it four stars for two reasons. 1. They dent easily. I've only dropped my tin once, but it already has a dent and a few scratches. I don't mind it that much. It still performs its function. :D2. You have to dry your shampoo before you store it, otherwise it melts. It would be nice if there were something to ventilate the shampoo so that it could be stored immediately without melting into the tin. Other than that, I really like this product. :)I would recommend getting two shampoo bars to get this rather than buying this as an individual product. (:

Comments about LUSH Shampoo Bar Tin:
I feel pretty much the same way everyone else feels about this storage tin: great for travel and for storing dry shampoo bars, but once they get wet ... Let's just say we all need a way to get our shampoo bars back home without them turning to mush in the container. I can't fault Lush for trying, though--after all, they do give these things away.

Comments about LUSH Shampoo Bar Tin:
While overall the tin is handy for the storing of the shampoo bars, I have found that using an empty fresh face mask tub is MUCH better. Getting the bar out is easier as there is slightly more room on the sides. And it doesn't stick inside the tub like it can in the tin. Just keep your tin or tub out of the direct spray of water, and let your shampoo bar air dry after using (i.e. don't put lid on) and you shouldn't have any sticking problems.

This is a good idea but not right for the product. I agree with others who said that it needs a draining plate or something along those lines. When you put the shampoo back into the tin it gets stuck and nearly impossible to completely impossible to get out which wastes the product.

It is easily dented and hard to open when slippery. I was taking a shower today and couldn't even get it open. I had to use a different shampoo. The cap was stuck and I have yet to open it.

Comments about LUSH Shampoo Bar Tin:
It's a great idea and works well when the bar shampoo is dry but once it's wet, the water cant drain and the soap gets soggy and ends up gettting stuck and wasting my shampoo!! I would like to see it with a drain plate on the bottom. If it had that I would absolutly love it.

Comments about LUSH Shampoo Bar Tin:
You cannot beat the convenience and eco-friendliness of having these tins for your shampoo bars. I carry shampoo bars, smaller soaps, and the smaller massage bars in the shampoo tins, and I am thrilled with the usefulness of them.
Despite the exposure to water, they have not rusted, but they CAN dent. They aren't fragile, but don't be too harsh with them.
The biggest downside I have found is if they get soap residue on them, or if your hands are wet, it can be really challenging to get enough of a grip on the lid and bottom to pull it open. perhaps some texturing on the sides of the container will give more grip for opening it during a shower?

Comments about LUSH Shampoo Bar Tin:
I use these tins for shampoo bars, but they are also great to hold a small amount of my Angels on Bare Skin cleanser in the shower (the facial cleaners tend to get nasty in the bigger tub they come in, I like to keep the tub in the fridge and take a little out at a time). They are also good for shower jellies and body butters and massage bars when they get small.
I have safety pins in one, and use them to make my own scrubs for the shower too (olive oil and sugar or salt is a great homemade scrub!)
Think outside the tin!
