I don't like the smell. I don't know who would think this smells like strawberries or cream. Smells like weird plastic or something to me. I do like the way it makes my hair feel. A little tiny bit goes a long way. If you have fine hair and you use a lot, your hair will end up greasy. It's a pretty good conditioner but I'll probably try something else when this bottle runs out.

I use this every other time I wash my hair, with one of the shampoo bars. It smells amazing and makes my very thick hair soft and shiny. Recommended.

I used this conditioner for the fist time this morning and I am in love! It smells amazing, a light vanilla-y scent and my hair is soft, shiny, less frizzy and my fly-aways are somewhat under control.
I started out with the Ultimate Shine shampoo bar and used about a nickel sized amount of this conditioner (my hair is of medium-fine thickness and little past my shoulders), concentrating on the ends and working my way up. Left it in for about 5 min and rinsed with luke warm water, the water temp also helps de-frizz and control fly-aways. I can't wait to see how amazing my hair will look and feel after about a week of use!

American Cream saved my hair. I was always unhappy with my hair and tried shampoo after shampoo, conditioner after conditioner. American Cream makes my hair smell wonderful (nothing better than a sudden gust of wind to push hair in your face and give you a yummy whiff!) and makes my hair so SHINY! As a kid I used to have pretty highlights in my brown hair which went away when my hair changed as a teenager... but I see them coming back now. I love my hair and don't feel like just tying it up anymore. I love displaying it!

My only con is that, unlike other Lush products, this one doesn't last nearly as long...

After becoming a recent LUSHaholic, I went into the store yesterday hoping to get a good shampoo and conditioner since I just ran out of my usual salon stuff. (Joico, Bed Head, etc.) Better than any salon-quality products I have ever tried, any I am a product junkie! After reading a few reviews and speaking to the lovely and knowledgeable sales associate, I decided on American Cream, which I paired with I Love Juicy. After using it for the first time this morning, I fell in love, in a lushful way. Since you condition after you shampoo, the scent that lingered in my hair is the spicy vanilla of American Cream, NOT the fruity pineapple scent of I Love Juicy. My hair was so course, dry and damaged after flat-ironing it everyday and colour-treatment... AFTER ONE WASH: I could not help but run my fingers through my hair all day (didn't even mind the 2 hour traffic jam!), it was so soft and supple! It also smells wonderful, my friend had to tell me to stop sniffing my hair because people were staring! It does not smell like strawberry vanilla milkshake or whatever, it's more like a spicy, vanilla, toasted almond, autumn starbucks day. I have long hair and found that a quarter-sized amount is more than enough. Definitely recommend this! I am turning my friend into a LUSHaholic too!

This smells FANTASTIC, however, I feel it is too light for my medium thick wavy hair. I bought a big one, and will finish it up cos I love the scent, but I won't buy it again since it barely detangles my hair. If you have fine hair, this product may work. Lush should definitely gives this product more conditioning properties while retaining the scent, then I'd probably buy it again.

I would use this daily after I would shampoo with the solid shampoo "New". I'd leave it in for a couple of minutes. When I would rinse my hair was pretty much exactly the same. There weren't any effects other than my hair smelling really nice. The conditioner is way too light! I feel like I'd have to use half of my bottle for it to be relatively effective.

It does smell amazing though. Maybe this would work on super fine baby hair but definitely not mine.

I have very dry, wavy, thick, color-treated hair. I've been using a drugstore color-retaining shampoo/conditioner, and it strips my hair. Plus, I have a lot of frizz.

Bought some American Cream today with Trichomania, and OMG! First of all, it smells absolutely amazing. Very reminiscent of Rock Star soap. My hair is curly, shiny and frizz-free after ONE use! Can't wait to see how it looks after a week.

I bought this conditioner looking to make a permanent switch to LUSH products and I can't imagine having bought anything else. I use this conditioner every day with Soak and Float solid shampoo and my hair is shiny and touchably soft. This conditioner also smells FANTASTIC. I put on some R&B after my shower and I'm smelling my hair all day long!

If you need a daily (as in light) conditioner that smells FANTASTIC, then this product is for you. My boyfriend can't stop running his fingers through my hair after I use this! Need to use a treatment once/week with this stuff though, as it is a light conditioner for my (curly) hair.

I tried so hard to love this conditioner. I loved the smell when I was at the store, I loved the smell after washing and drying my hair but it just made my hair feel so nasty. It felt almost overmoisturized and I couldn't even run a brush or my own fingers through my hair. The smell made me nostalgic though, like Barbie hair (I know, it's weird.) Guess it's time to move on to a different product.

I absolutely hated the smell of this conditioner. I had high hopes for a strawberry, vanilla concoction, but it just smells like a plastic doll. The conditioner does work nice for my hair, but nothing amazing.

I have read so many reviews on this and how wonderful it smells, however, I have fine hair. So for years I never purchased this because it didn't seem like the right fit. Recently though, my hair took a nose-dive and became extremely dry and very damaged at the ends (yes, I dye my hair). I couldn't figure out why and I tried tons--and I mean the whole shebang--of other high end products. Nothing repaired my hair, not even deep conditioning treatments and hair masks. This, however gave me amazing results from day one. It's now one week later and my hair is simply amazing: soft, shiny, detangled, and far less frizzy. And guess what? It smells even more amazing. I love being around myself...

This is my favorite conditioner. FAVORITE. So much so that even though I realize everyone has different taste in their product's scent, it almost offends me personally to read that people think it smells bad! It's not a sugary strawberry vanilla smell, so if you're looking for that, skip American Cream. It's subtle, it's delicious, and the scent stays in your hair all day long. at the end of the day I can flip my hair around and still get that intoxicating scent of awesomeness this conditioner has. I have fine hair, straight, and it leaves me without tangles on daily use. If you're into the smell of buttercream frosting and white chocolate mochas and things of the like, give American Cream a whirl. You won't regret it :)

"Sweet, fruity shake"? Hmmm.... nope. This conditioner did not meet my smell expectations at all! If I had smelled it in-store before, I would not have ordered it. It doesn't smell like vanilla or fruit at all. I don't even know how to describe it... it just smells... weird. And strong. Kind of perfumey. After you get out of the shower it sort of mellows out and blends with the shampoo scent (I'm using Gentil Lentil), but I still don't like it!

The other thing about this conditioner is it is SO light. I have to use a ton to just work it through my hair (which is just past my shoulders). I think it does make my hair a little softer, but the amount of conditioner I have to use to get it that way is ridiculous! This is very disappointing since it's so expensive... would have liked it to last longer.

Bottom line, I'm going to use up the rest of the bottle so that I don't feel bad for wasting money, but I definitely will not be buying this again.

I really love this fragrance. It smells clean and fresh. My husband loves it and my sister tried to steal my bottle. I wish it wasn't so pricey, but I will pay it. Now, if Lush would make lotions and other products to go with it, I would scoop them up. My hair is never weighed down and I think it goes into withdrawals if I stop. Can hair become addicted? Can you make a bath bomb? Lotion? Pleeeeze!!!

My hair tends to get oily quite fast and at first I thought that the consistency of this product (light, liquidy, not really creamy) would be good for my hair type. Sure, the product didn't leave a residue or buildup but it just didn't condition well at all. My hair might have felt SLIGHTLY softer but I was expecting a lot more for the price. I just don't think it was worth the price. The smell is very strong, stays in your hair for a long time. Also it didn't detangle at all for me.

I've been using this conditioner for less than a week and I hate it. The scent was not the sweet strawberry or vanilla I was expecting. It's way too strong and gives me a headache when I use it. I thought I could just get through it though if it worked on my hair. It made my hair worse. I have thick, straight hair that tends to get oily if I don't wash it everyday. This conditioner made my hair the texture of straw and now my scalp feels itchy too! It completely dried it out. I'd never purchase this conditioner again.

I like strawberries ... I like honey ... I like vanilla ... in my ice cream or cake. This was NOT a good choice for me. I have typically stuck close to all things mint or rose. I thought I'd give this a try because the girls at the shop raved about it. I ended up crawling out of my shower GAGGING on the smell.
