Okay, okay, the smell is definitely not high on my list of favorite scents. But, after asking for a sample at my local Lush, and being put off by the smell, I decided to give it a shot anyway. I am so glad I did! After using my Karma Komba solid shampoo, I put a fairly small amount of this on the bottom half of my long hair and put it up to allow it to deep condition while I shave, etc. It's unlike any conditioner I've used because it doesn't immediately make my hair feel slick when I get out of the shower, but the real results come when it dries. The smell is hardly noticeable after you use it the first few times, and the results are so awesome, I can let go of the odor (which doesn't last long if I allow my hair to air dry). My hair is noticeably softer, less tangly, and feels much healthier now that I'm using a conditioner free of silicones, etc. I will be purchasing this the next time I visit Lush, even though the price is steep for a student like me. Worth it!

A recent visit for a haircut at my salon left me feeling blue. The stylist talked about how dry my hair was. I know it's from my daily heat styling and coloring every three months. So in addition to considering LUSH henna, a LUSH staffer recommended I treat my hair to a little Retread and sent me home with a sample as I was visting the store on vacation and couldn't carryon the big container in my luggage. I'm back at the site today to order the product it was so awesome!

It feels very light going on, and I didn't think it would offer enough conditioning and detangling, but I was WRONG! After Jungle and Veganese failures on my hair, I had low expections. But this light conditioner untagled my thin but plentiful wavy locks and left my tresses so soft. Sold, LUSH. Well done.

Even though I am not fond of the smell, I cannot rave enough about this product salvaging my hair- if you have damaged strands, definitely try this!

I have semi-thick, untreated, slightly wavy dirty blonde hair- about 6 inches past my shoulders.

I was experiencing damage to the hair on the back of my head due to tight hair bands while working out. I had this one section of frizzy hair no conditioner would tame- it matted up and required time consuming detangling with a comb after each washing, the damaged strands looked and felt like kinky wires with jagged angles to them.

Salon conditioners were useless against it, and having had used Lush's Marilyn years ago with happy results, I browsed their conditioners. I realized I really needed something heavy duty - I needed the Navy Seal of hair conditioners, the Holy Grail of hair repair - and Retread seemed to fit that bill.

No sooner did I get home from the Lush store with my new purchase, I stuck my head under the faucet, I shampooed and towel dried my hair, and then opened my jar. I was greeted with a smell I could only equate with "bandage adhesive". I was little put off but I knew my hair was desperate for relief- so I smeared about 2 TBS on the damaged strands and worked it through the rest of my hair, put a shower cap on it and waited for 30 minutes. The results were fantastic- when it came time to rinse, I could already feel the difference in my hair under the faucet- my fingers just slipped right through.

After towel drying again, my comb hit no snags and after blow drying, it was light and airy, felt like silk and had shine to it. Once dry, the smell faded and was nothing strong enough spraying my perfume over it didn't resolve.

For regular use, I don't use so much - a little does go a long way. A few times a week, I put it on first thing in the shower and let it sit for for the duration and get the same results- I could not imagine living without this conditioner now.

I was pretty hesitant to purchase this conditioner because of the reviews in regards to the horrible smell. I'm soooo glad I took the chance and bought this! I personally think it smells good, like melons and it's not too overpowering of a scent. I pair this with Trichomania and I've been having great hair days ever since!

I really enjoy the smell of this one, its not to heavy. I think the only thing that I don't like about this product is the fact that 8oz is [$]. Way to much money for such little product. I would pay 19.95, but thats me.

I have very dry, curly hair that is a pain to keep under control. After using Retread my hair was more manageable. It looks shinier, healthier and the best part is i don't have to use as much product in my hair afterwards. I love the smell and would recommend it to anyone with dry hair. You can use it as a daily conditioner or if you have thin or normal hair it works great as a conditioning treatment once a week.

This conditioner is just okay. I can tell that it's helping my hair but it just doesn't detangle it at all. I am literally a lush junkie and love all of Lush's skin products (face and body). I'm just recently getting into the hair products and this just doesn't "wow" me for the price. I LOVE r&b so that really helps the health of my hair..but I think I'll continue looking for my perfect Lush conditioner because this just isn't it!

I really do enjoy this conditioner. My hair just soaks it up! I usually use it once a week or so, and I really slather it in. My hair thanks me for it! With hair that is down to my behind I often have trouble finding conditioners that don't weigh it down to much. Retread does that for me. I love to use it in combination with the Godiva shampoo bar.

Now, the smell isn't that great. It isn't the most awful smell, but to me it smells a little musty. The scent doesn't linger in your hair afterward though.

If you are looking for a conditioner that will make your hair sleek and tangle free this isn't the product for you.

If you are looking for something that makes your hair feel lighter, healthier, and overall more happy... then slather on some retread!

I LOVE this conditioner!!!! I have extremely curly hair that can get rather dry and instead of using a big flop of conditioner, you only need the littlest bit of this which is great cause then it can last you for a good long time.

1st - Shampoo and rinse.
2nd - grab a small amount of conditioner.
3rd - rub into your hair focusing on the shaft and maybe put a little extra on the tips.
4th - Leave it on while you soap up or shave.
5th - Comb through and rinse as you normally would.

I condition daily because my hair is so thick. This didn't detangle and it felt waxy in my hair after I washed it out thoroughly. I wouldn't recommend.

While the smell is not to die for, the results ARE...and that is more important to me. And might I add, the scent does fade throughout the day to a pleasant scent (if I could give this 4.5 stars I would) My hair is slightly longer than shoulder length, dry, brittle, frizzy, wavy and HUGE (real sexy LOL) it's also color treated. Salon conditioners, leave ins, etc do NOTHING for my hair. I thought it was a lost cause...until I found Retread. Curly Wurly and Retread are my life savers. I still need to straighten my hair (or else it's huge) but my hair is SMOOTH and shiny for once in my life.

I use a keratin treatment on my super curly hair to keep it straight. I am supposed to use specialized shampoo and conditioner to help keep it straight that is sodium and sulfate free, but it does nothing but dry out my hair. I mix this conditioner in with my "specialized" conditioner and my hair is instantly transformed. It smells a little gross in the jar, but not so bad on my head. Definitely buying this again.

I use Retread with Rehab shampoo, and it works wonders on my hair. My dry, thick, and slightly coarse hair becomes soft and lays all the right ways without me having to try too hard. Also, I wasn't sure about the smell out of the pot, but after it's rinsed out of my hair, the scent that lingers is actually nice (in my opinion), but I can see why it may be a turn-off to others. Give this conditioner a try--it's now a staple in my shower!

I really did love this product but I didn't like how it made my hair have knots and not silky feeling.. very dull. Also I had to use a handful and not dime size to put into my hair for the results.

I got this with my hair care set i got a week an a half ago. I was worried about using conditioner in my hair due to the fact that I have oily hair. But this left my hair soft and conditioned without leaving it greasy looking. :D vary happy with this.

This is my favorite conditioner. I love the natural smell. It never feels heavy or oily, and doesn't leave a greasy residue on my hair like some other deep conditioners. If your hair isn't very dry like mine, you may not want to use it everyday. Since I switched to this conditioner, I always get compliments on my shiny, natural curls!

My hair is dry, thick, and wavy and was in need of major TLC so my Lush girl recommended this. The product does everything it says it will. I love the result! The only con is the smell. It doesnt smell strong in the jar but in the shower it is a little overwhelming. My husband says it smells like a salon... chemically smell not fruity at all. Not a "bad" smell, but different. Just went swimming in our pool and the smell is still there.... and the bees seem to love it as well. It might deter me from buying in the future. I want something a little more fruity smelling, which I was kind of hoping this was with the melons all over it. If you can get past the smell it is worth every penny.

LOVE THIS CONDITIONER! It leaves my hair so soft, shiny, and moisturized! Its by far the most moisturizing conditioner I have ever used works well with curly wurly shampoo if you have curly hair. My hair is very curly and gets really dry if I don't have the right products. This conditioner always leaves it feeling moisturized and soft. It is a tad expensive, but the product goes a long way for your money. I do wish It were less expensive but I think its definitely worth it. One of my favorite Lush products
