This product is very thick so I only need to use a little, even though my skin is dry. This is great compared to other brands that I have tried that needed to be applied twice or more!! Just one thin layer on my body and my skin feels moisturized and supple.

Ylang Ylang Flower Infusion is the first ingredient, followed by fresh ginger,almond oil and cocoa butter. I was sold right there!! Then,Lush adds essential oils of Ginger, Mimosa,Rose, Geranium,Jasmine, Juniper Berry and Ylang Ylang!!!! Some of these essential oils are quite expensive,so to have them all in one very moisturizing lotion is absolutely Wonderful! The Ginger and Juniper Berry oils balance out the floral oils to achieve a feminine,but not "Grandmotherly" scent that lasts all day.

This smells more like a very strong rose scented perfume a crazy old lady would wear..I will no be buying this again. Its so strong it nauseating me. Sorry Lush but its true.

I love Lush and have been a long-time user (Since 1999) and have had a few misses with products, but that was no big deal until this one. UGH. I feel the description is way off. There is no ginger scent whatsoever. It isn't a spice or even a floral. It smells like heavy old perfumes like Taboo or Shalimar--obvious, nothing subtle and very much like the kind that makes you think of grand dame/matriarch types from soap operas. I am so upset about the inaccurate description---someone is way off...way off. My first real Lush miss---a really bad description.

This lotion smells wonderful and just as described (no surprises like some other products) with a slightly nutty smelling base. My skin LOVES Ginger Lotion. It really does feel more toned and flexible after use than any other Lush lotion out there. Very nourishing. Highly recommended!

I use body lotion daily for dry skin.I like to alternate regular lotion with Ginger Lotion because it lasts longer this way. The floral scent lasts long enough so I skip using perfume on those days.The scent is light enough to wear to the office without making others sneeze,which is nice.

I have not used this in the winter yet,but the smell of flowers is always nice in Janruary!

Lotion leaves my skin so smooth with a light shine on it. It's a bit greasy, but I like greasy; it beats dry and rashy that I usually get from my eczema. No, it doesn't aggravate my eczema. I actually bought it because of the scent. The ginger smells like the essential oil ginger, so it's very strong. Lush adds enough other notes to balance the harshness of the ginger. If you don't like STRONG scents, this isn't for you, but I can't stop smelling my skin when I have this on. So intoxicating!

I use this after I bathe in the morning and the incredible scent lasts until dinner. It does what it says, softening wise, AND NO KIDDING--this is one of the sexiest, "big girl" scents ever. I received this product through an internet purchase - by mistake! I had ordered the Ginger Soap, which smelled delightful when lathered up, but upon realizing that the lotion was a bargain on my behalf, I decided to keep it.First thing's first - the odor. I can smell a sliiight trace of ginger, but aside from that, the lotion contains a spicy, albeit "unique," floral scent. It has been about six months since I've used it now, and I still cannot tell if I like it or dislike it. Regardless, it is strong.Secondly, even when applied in small amounts, it leaves my hands/body feeling a bit greasy. Nothing too bothersome, but noticeable.Aside from the qualms, it really does hydrate skin. I've applied it to my chapped elbows, and they now feel pleasantly soft.Ultimately, this lotion can be a nice addition to your Lush collection. Just be certain that you can tolerate the smell and texture first; otherwise, you will not have purchased your[$] worth!

I couldn't wait to smell this when I opened my LUSH package. Too bad my husband hated the strong floral smell. He said it reminded him of his great grandma. There is a rose/jasmine/ylang ylang scent. I had to take it to work after he stopped getting near me when I put it on. I use it as a hand lotion now at work, and it is very long lasting. I wash my hands all day, and I notice I only have to re-apply every so often, instead of every time I wash. Some days the floral in this does make me sneeze, but I'm pretty sensitive to perfumes and such. If you like the romantic floral scents, give this one a try.

Welll when I read "ginger" I at first took it literally to mean ginger, like the root. Then when I read the description, I was excited, thinking "oooh white ginger!" because of the South-Seas-floral elements. Unfortunately, it doesn't smell like white ginger flowers. Or even ginger root for that matter. It's not a BAD smell, it's just...a weird generic floral. I dunno. I'll give it another shot b/c I want to love it & b/c it does feel rather nice. 2 stars off for disappointing smell, but 3 stars for it doing what it should.

I do think the product softens skin which is lovely but the smell is not expected. I was expecting a strong spicy ginger smell but it does not smell like that at all. It definitely smells like flowers but in a heavy old way. I'm giving it to my grandmother as a present.

This lotion does the trick on my skin, but a little goes a long way. It has a very strong floral scent that I think is a little unusual but not unpleasant. I'm just not used to smelling geraniums, I think. I find it interesting and different. I like it!

I was looking forward to using this but unfortunately it wasn't what I expected. It's more of a floral than a ginger, alltho after a while the floral mellows to a gingerale type scent. It is moisturizing and the scent does last, it just isn't the scent of ginger. It is a strong, heedy scent.

I was excited to buy this product with the promise of happy ginger smells dancing through my head (think ginger ale or gingerbread). Sadly, as soon as you slather this lotion on it was a punch in the face of old lady stank! Ew. Roses and geraniums dominate the scent and I can't get a single whiff of ginger. How disappointing. The only saving quality of this lotion is that it does indeed leave your skin feeling smooth, young and pretty; even though you smell like grandma.

This lotion is now my favorite! It really does tone skin!!! After reading all the reviews, I tried this one instead of Dream Cream (which was my staple for the past year). I am not sorry I did! This lotion really tightens and tones the skin...It also has such a lovely floral scent. Reminds me of sitting in a floral garden on a hot humid evening. I like to slather this on after a cool shower, after being out on a warm sunny day. I'm going to stock up on this one.
