Sodium methyl cocoyl taurate is a soft, white paste that’s derived from coconut. It’s made by reacting the amino acid taurine (a synthesised version) with a coconut fatty acid. The waxy paste is then ground into a powder.&nbsp;

As a surfactant, this powder allows oil and water to mix which&nbsp;helps to rinse away the bacteria that cause teeth decay. It’s also a good alternative to silicones, and it’s entirely palm-free.
