Rosin

Rosin is a sticky natural gum that binds ingredients together and becomes solid at room temperature, which helps create naked products.

If you’re a proud tree-hugger, you might want to be careful when approaching pines. Indeed, these trees have an excellent defence system when injured and produce a fragrant liquid that flows from the cut to protect it from hungry insects, like a natural bandage. It is a very sticky substance, difficult to remove from clothing!

This natural protection, called oleoresin, has been used for centuries by different industries such as the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food industries. It is packed with aromatic compounds called terpenes that can be evaporated from the resin by heat, resulting in a solid gum called rosin.
