Tangerine oil is popular in perfumery for its uplifting fragrance. On the skin, it helps to rejuvenate as it is thought to improve the circulation of blood and lymph.

Tangerine oil is extracted by cold compression of the peel of the ripe fruits of the Citrus reticulata tree. This evergreen tree can grow up to six metres tall with white flowers and orange fruits and belongs to the Rutaceae plant family.

Tangerines and mandarins look a lot alike and share the same properties, so much that they are considered the same in some countries and are a bit of a botanical nightmare when it comes to explaining which is which. Sometimes, you just have to let it go.
