Also known as ‘the Brazilian frankincense’, Breu Branco oil is distilled from the fragrant resin of a tall Amazonian tree.

Where do we get it?

Lush purchases Breu Branco oil from a Brazilian supplier, along with babassu oil. This supplier’s aim is to identify, develop, and strengthen supply chains of raw materials from the Amazon. In doing so, they want to protect the rainforest and provide a sustainable income for the locals. They focus on traceability, sustainability and training.

180 people from 45 families are involved in Breu Branco resin extraction. They are small farmers based in the state of Pará, one of the regions in Brazil with the highest deforestation rates.

What are the benefits of breu branco oil?
