White Sugar Crystals

Ingredient

White Sugar Crystals

Benefits

Natural

Sugar is a natural humectant, drawing in moisture from the environment and locking it into the skin. Easily dissolved in warm water, these large, gem-like chunks of sugar add an extra dose of moisturising sweetness to your bath.

These crystals are made using the root of the sugar beet. The sugar is formed by photosynthesis in the long green leaves growing above the soil, then stored in the white, fleshy root underground. The beet is made up of 75% water, approximately 20% sugar and 5% pulp, with more or less sugar depending on growing conditions. It grows exclusively in temperate climates and is widely cultivated throughout France, Germany and Russia.

To extract the sugar from the beets, the roots are washed, sliced and soaked in hot water to create a thick, sugary juice. This juice then goes through a carbonation process to remove any impurities before being crystalised.

White sugar crystals are sourced from France.
