Rosa Canina

Pressed from organic rose hip seeds, this oil helps restore hydration and elasticity to the skin. It is also soothing and leaves a smooth and light feel on the skin.  

The Rosa canina plant, or dog rose, is a wild species of rose that thrives alongside country footpaths. After flowering, the plant grows small fruits of a vibrant red colour that enliven winter’s leafless landscapes. Called rose hips, these fruits have a variety of uses, culinary and medicinal.  

Pressed from the hairy little seeds nestling inside the fruit, the oil has a herb-like scent and contains a lot of unsaturated fatty acids. Among them, linoleic and linolenic acids are of particular interest for skincare, as they are easily absorbed and help strengthen the skin’s protective barrier.

Extensively studied, rose hip oil has shown potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity, and may contribute to a visible reduction in the appearance of scars, hyper-pigmentation, and wrinkles. Rich in vitamin C, it is also said to boost collagen production and therefore promote skin’s elasticity.
