Orange peel is brimming with essential oil - you only have to squeeze the peel between your fingertips and you can see and feel it.

Water is a key ingredient in product formulas to help other ingredients combine, and here at Lush we often like to enhance our water by infusing it with other ingredients before adding it to the mix. As with all citrus fruits, the outer, leathery rind of oranges is filled with essential oil glands. Boiling the rind allows the oil to infuse with water, imparting benefits and scent to make a beautiful plant extract.
