Benefits
Natural
Horehound is a sharp-scented herb known for its antiseptic properties as well as its ability to soothe the skin.
The white horehound plant, belonging to the Labiatae family (also known as mint), is a small herb that grows up to 3 feet tall with small white and green leaves and white flowers. It is native to Europe, North Africa and Asia.
Horehound was used in Ancient Egypt as a cough remedy and is still used for this purpose today. The plants are cut when flowering and are used fresh or dried, in infusions, extracts, powders, and syrups. This infusion is made by dipping the dried herb in boiled water, like a good old herbal tea.
