Orange Peel Wax

Ingredient

Orange Peel Wax

Citrus aurantium dulcis

Benefits

Natural

Obtained from orange peels, this wax shares its colour, uplifting scent, and antimicrobial qualities with the juicy fruit.

Where do we get it?

Lush UK purchases this scented ingredient from an American-Dutch supplier specialising in natural waxes. Once the oranges are squeezed by the juice industry, their leftovers are collected and sent to our supplier’s facilities in Florida. They manage to extract various useful materials like pulp, essential oils and wax from these leftovers, thus avoiding wastage.

With seven manufacturing sites across the globe, this information may vary depending on where your Lush products were made.

What are the benefits of orange peel wax?

Orange peel wax is considered a good vegan alternative to lanolin as it has similar emollient and moisturising properties for the skin and hair, with a lightweight feel. An emulsifier, it also helps bind oils and water together in a product formula, creating generous and smooth blends.

Phototoxicity (of our city, our city)

Tests have been carried out to ensure that this wax has no phototoxic potential, a reaction that is sometimes encountered with citrus fruits’ extracts.
