Coconut cream is obtained from the first press of the flesh of a coconut. The oily white compound is full of minerals and can be grated to make desiccated coconut.

The coconut palm tree, Cocos nucifera, is known to produce fruit throughout the year, growing a new bloom almost monthly. Each flower becomes a cluster of six to twelve drupes, or coconuts, which can take up to a year to mature. Fun fact - coconuts are thought to be the largest seed in the world.
