An ancient antidote
Rose hips have been a popular with humans for thousands of years. There is evidence of their consumption from prehistoric times to ancient China, Greece, the Maya, and beyond. Suggestions of its use as a herbal remedy exist too. Rose hip’s Latin name, Rosa canina, which means dog rose, is thought to come from the resemblance between the plant’s sharp thorns and dogs teeth, whose resulting bite the Romans believed rose hips could help treat.
