Melassa di Melagrana (Punica granatum)
Pomegranate molasses are made by reducing fresh pomegranate juice down until it forms a dark, thick, syrup.
The pomegranate (Punica granatum) is a small tree of the Lythraceae (loosestrife) family that thrives in warm climates. It grows beautiful flowers of a vibrant red colour which slowly turn into a fruit. Inside their leathery outer rind, pomegranate fruits contain a multitude of seeds that are wrapped in an edible, fleshy and juicy coating.
It is no exaggeration to say that the pomegranate is a sacred fruit. Present in many religious texts, lore and legends across the globe, it usually represents abundance and fertility.
