What is marula oil?

Marula oil comes from the Sclerocarya birrea tree, which is native to southern and western Africa. Tall animals such as elephants and giraffes love the tree’s fruits and leaves, and humans have found uses for every part of the tree. The leaves and bark are used in traditional medicines, the trunk contains fibres good for making ropes, the small fruits can be eaten or made into drinks, and their seeds are pressed into cosmetic oil. Archaeological research has even found traces of marula fruit consumption that date back to 10,000BC.
