This absolute is produced in France. Compared to cardamom essential oil, this extract has similar eucalyptus nuances but is much warmer, sweeter and woodier, with ginger and tea notes.

Elettaria cardamomum (also known as green or true cardamom) is a perennial plant, part of the ginger family and native to Ceylon and India. Its flowers are pale yellow with mauve tips. The greens pods of the plant are hand-harvested between September and April and contain up to twenty tiny and fragrant black seeds.
