Voordelen
Natuurlijk
Water chestnut is not really a nut, but it does grow in water. The grass-like aquatic plant is at home in shallow marshy wetlands, ponds and lakes.
Water chestnuts are known as corms, which are a swollen part of a plant’s stem used to store nutrients. They look a little like a muddy tulip bulb, but once peeled and cut into, they reveal a succulent, crunchy white centre that can be eaten raw or cooked.
What are the benefits of water chestnut in cosmetics?
- Hydrating
- Protective
With a water content of around 70-75%, water chestnuts make a hydrating addition to product formulas. They also contain antioxidants such as ferulic acid, which help protect against free-radical damage caused by pollution and the sun.
