Coconut flour is a gentle exfoliant that lightly buffs skin and absorbs excess oil.

Also known as Cocos nucifera (nucifera meaning nut bearing), the coconut tree is believed to be native to Malaysia, Indonesia and Polynesia. Although their name suggests otherwise, the coconut is not a nut but a drupe.

When it comes to the coconut palm the possibilities are endless, the tree blooms and fruits all year round and all elements of the tree can be used, it doesn’t just stop at cosmetics or food. Palm leaves as a roofing material, coconut husk for rope making and the shell to hold liquids and food. The Sanskrit name for the coconut, ‘Kalpavriksha’ means ‘tree which gives all that is necessary for living’.
