Lavender Powder

Ingredient

Lavender Powder

Lavandula angustifolia

Benefits

Natural

This powder holds the beautiful fragrance of ground lavender flowers. It adds antimicrobial, soothing and balancing properties to the products that it's used in.

Lavandula angustifolia is a perennial, shrub-like plant that's part of the mint family. The flowers are picked as soon as they begin to open. They are then used fresh, distilled for oil, dried for use in infusions and tinctures, or simply for decoration.

Powdered flowers and herbs are especially sought after in deodorants as they are scented and absorb moisture. The antimicrobial properties of lavender are also useful, as they limit the growth of odour-producing bacteria that can be found frolicking in armpits.

Lush purchase lavender powder from several different European countries, depending on availability.
