Arenga sugar comes from the fresh sap of the sugar palm, Arenga pinnata, native to Indonesia and the Philippines. The sap is boiled until it becomes a thick syrup, which is then dried to make sugar.

Lush source arenga sugar from Masarang, an Indonesian foundation dedicated to nature conservation.
