Changing the future often lies in the past. That is the philosophy folded between the pages of this book, unfurled across a seventeen-year journey, and tied to the very core of LUSH’s values. Knot Wraps are more than just gift-wrapping without the waste.

It started in 2009 with a leaflet. Drawn up by the Japanese Ministry of Environment, it contained instructions on the many different ways to utilise furoshiki in daily life. Furoshiki, we would learn, is a Japanese art and practice of using square pieces of cloth to carry, protect, and store items. What evolved from that crucial inspiration was a product that offered customers the opportunity to never have to buy wrapping paper ever again.

THE LUSH GUIDE TO KNOT WRAP is an ode not only to our Knot Wraps and the people who make them possible, but to furoshiki’s rich history. From the suppliers in India, China, and Japan that make the organic and recycled fabric possible, to the artists who lend their unique points of view to every design. Our Knot Wraps have travelled the globe, so allow us to draw the map, and invite you to take the journey with us.
