How Snow Fairy Took Over the World
Like every holiday icon, Snow Fairy flies into our lives (only once a year) to spread endless amounts of holiday cheer. A symbol of festive kindness and a staple scent for the holiday season, this pink fairy has won over hearts around the world with its endless charm, sparkle and sweet bubblegum, cotton candy scent. But how did this sparkly legend go from new product to holiday icon? We’re glad you asked!
Since 2005, Snow Fairy has been making its way into the homes and hearts of Lushies everywhere. From bath bombs, to bubble bars and body lotions, every year our product inventors create magical products that soften the skin and marvel the mind.
How it all started
Who knew that a pink holiday fairy was exactly what everyone needed? Claire Constantine did!
Snow Fairy was invented by Lush’s Global Retail Director, Claire Constantine, daughter of Lush Co-Founders and Product Inventors Mark and Mo Constantine, when she was just a child. What began as Claire’s sweet wish became the Snow Fairy product we all know and love today.
“When I was around 11, mom and dad brought home a pink shower gel with no scent. I found it in the bathroom and told them that I loved the color but it needed to smell of cotton candy and my favorite perfume. That product eventually became ‘Snow Fairy’. I still love it to this day!” —Claire Constantine, Lush Global Retail Director
With its comforting and uplifting fragrance, Snow Fairy has become a true seasonal must-have, with almost $1 million worth of Snow Fairy products sold in North America during the second half of 2024.
Sparkle inside and out
We asked Lush Kitchen Concept Lead, Jeff St.Jean, to tell us a little more about Snow Fairy’s journey to stardom.
“When Snow Fairy first launched back in 2005, there really wasn’t anything else like it. Our most popular products at the time were Karma and Dream Cream—which attracted customers that loved traditional scents like citrus and lavender and were for people looking for more utilitarian skincare. No sparkles in sight!” He told us.
“Later that year we launched Snow Fairy Shower Gel. At the time, people thought it was an odd choice for a holiday product, since it wasn’t at all traditional—but Lush has always prided itself on being a little different than everyone else. And to many people’s surprises (not ours), it quickly became a cult favorite that people everywhere asked about year round … and the rest is history.”
A global phenomenon
Every year during the holiday season Lush releases its collection of limited-edition Snow Fairy products that cover ranges from fragrance to skincare, bath and shower.
Packed with skin-softening ingredients, uplifting Persian lime oil and plastic-free glitter, this pink holiday range leaves your skin silky smooth and sweetly fragranced—while also spreading courage, kindness and confidence throughout the festive season.
Throughout the years Snow Fairy has been making waves from coast to coast.
