Lush sources this oil from Almendrehesa, a Spanish supplier located in Granada, where the oil is extracted from shelled almonds through a cold-pressing process. Almendrehesa was founded in 2016 by twenty farmers, driven by a desire to improve their land and their lives. Eight years later, there were more than fifty. They are part of <a href="https://alvelal.es/que-hacemos/">a network called AlVelAl</a> that aims to restore degraded ecosystems and land using regenerative farming techniques, among other things.

All farmers that Almendrehesa works with sign a Commitment to Regenerative Agriculture, which includes the standards below:

Lush is also collaborating with Almendrehesa on a project to expand the adoption of regenerative farming practices among a broader network of farmers. This initiative involves establishing pilot trials to demonstrate the effectiveness of these practices to both internal and external stakeholders.
