Hilary Jones from our Ethics Team says, “When we launched this fundraising soap in the U.K. and Europe, we had no idea that more areas of the world would suddenly be facing huge active wildfires. Expanding this soap for sale into all our USA shops was a clear imperative. Lush always seeks to direct our fundraising to those people and causes that might be overlooked or historically marginalized, and to put money directly into the hands of communities and mutual aid activities.
What's in it for you?
– This soap feels good while it does good! Marshmallow root decoction, clove bud and buriti oils serve up a beautiful, slightly spicy lather.
– Nutrient-rich buriti oil comes from the buriti tree, which plays a key role in the rainforest ecosystem by providing food and shelter for wildlife from birds to beetles. This hydrating and nourishing oil is a source of essential vitamins for the skin.
– Our proper soap is proper lovely and made the old-fashioned way by saponification. We mix it by hand, adding in beautiful ingredients for their effects, pour it hot and let it cure before it takes pride of place on by your sink. Here we’ve blended two luxurious soap bases, coconut and rapeseed for a nice firm bar, along with rice bran to deliver creamy lathers and silky bubbles. Lucky you!

– We source the buriti oil inside directly from producers in Peru who are an NGO and social enterprise with the vision of empowering small-scale collectors and producers of raw materials from the Amazon and the Andean highlands.

– This product needs no packaging and no introduction. It will arrive naked and proud in your parcel because we want to strip back on unnecessary packaging.
