Bring It Back Terms & Conditions

This simple recycling scheme entitles Lush customers in Australia who are over the age of 18 to exchange any Qualifying Lush Packaging item for Rewards when returned to a participating Australian Lush store (pop-up Lush retail experiences and stores, concessions, events and online not included) (“Participating Lush Store”).

 

Participation in the “Bring it Back Recycling and Rewards” Scheme

  1. Your participation in the “Bring its Back Recycling and Rewards” Scheme (the “Scheme”) is governed by these terms and conditions (the “Terms”).
  2. Please read these Terms carefully. By participating in the Scheme, you warrant that you have read, accept and agree to these Terms (each as amended from time to time).

Qualifying Packaging

  1. Firstly, check that your packaging is eligible for the Scheme. You can do this by checking on the bottom of the item, where you will find the type of plastic just under the recycling symbol (apart from on the plastic moulds) and by checking the label on a product.
  2. This Scheme applies to the following  items (“Qualifying Lush Packaging”):

  Full Size

  • PET clear plastic bottles (with lids)
  • PP pots clear, white & black (with lids)
  • PP makeup packaging 
  • PP push up tubes (with lid)
  • HDPE bottles (with trigger/spray tops)
  • Glass packaging - Excluding liquid perfume packaging

  Sample Size

  • PP black 10ml sample pots (with lids) can now be exchanged for 10 cents under this scheme. These packaging items do not qualify for the five for a fresh face mask exchange.

Exclusions

  1. The following items are excluded from the Scheme and are not Qualifying Lush Packaging:
  • Any non-Lush packaging of any material
  • Non-plastic/glass Lush packaging (e.g. paper packaging, cork shampoo bar containers, or tins – please reuse these items where possible or recycle locally) 
  • Bottle tops (we will continue to accept these back for recycling)
  • Glass packaging for liquid perfume

Scheme Rules and Redemptions

  1. The Scheme will apply only to Qualifying Lush Packaging originally purchased from either a Participating Lush Store, the official Lush Website, Lush App or via approved third party vendors, and Lush store staff shall have sole discretion in determining whether any packaging qualifies under this scheme.
  2. Qualifying Lush Packaging should be empty and thoroughly cleaned before returning to a Participating Lush Store. Customers may be refused or asked to wash their packaging in store.
  3. Once you have one or more Qualifying Lush Packaging empties and they are sparkling clean take them along to any Lush Participating Store in Australia and present them at the point of paying. 
  4. Qualifying Lush Packaging returns may only be made in Participating Lush Stores and we do not accept returns of any Qualifying Lush Packaging online or at pop-up Lush retail experiences, concessions, and events.
  5. The “Rewards” are as follows:

  a. $1.00 for a full size individual Qualifying Lush Packaging item off your purchase at the time of return at the Participating Lush Store; or

  b. 10 cents for a sample size individual Qualifying Lush Packaging item off your purchase at the time of return at the Participating Lush Store; (together the “Money-Off Rewards”) or

  c. A 75g face/body mask specifically kept in a fridge or on ice in store and does not apply to unrefrigerated face masks such as Cup O’ Coffee or Mask Of Magnaminty (“Fresh Mask”) for five full size Qualifying Lush Packaging items at the time of return at the Participating Lush Store. Fresh Face/Body Masks are subject to availability in the Participating Lush Store that you choose to redeem this promotion with.

(the Money-Off Rewards and Fresh Mask together are the “Rewards”)

  1. You may convert your Money-Off Rewards into money-off your purchase at the time of return at the Participating Lush Store where you have returned your Qualifying Lush Packaging or, if you are 18+, convert the Money-Off Rewards into credit in your Lush Wallet Credit in accordance with the Lush Wallet Terms https://www.lush.com/au/en/faq/lush-wallet-au-terms-and-conditions to spend later on the Lush App or in a Participating Lush Store through your Lush Wallet, available through your registered account on the Lush App. A limit of $1000 applies to the balance on a Lush Wallet account. If the Money-Off Rewards exceed the limit on the Lush Wallet account, such may not be applied to the Lush Wallet.
  2.  Splitting your redemption amount is allowed. E.g. if you bring in 10 full sized Qualifying Packaging, you can put 5 of them towards a Fresh Face Mask redemption, and 5 towards $5.00 of your total purchase. 
  3.  This offer has no cash value and the Rewards must be redeemed in Participating Lush Stores or added to the Lush Wallet at the same time the Qualifying Packaging is returned. Money-Off Rewards in the Lush Wallet will be converted to Lush Wallet Credit which may be spent at any time in the Lush App or in a Participating Lush Store in accordance with the Lush Wallet terms and conditions.
  4.  If the value of the returned Qualifying Lush Packaging under this scheme exceeds the value of a chosen Reward, no cash equivalent will be given. You may, however, choose to add the excess to the Lush Wallet as Lush Wallet Credit at the time of the purchase in store.
  5. Members of staff using the Scheme in conjunction with a staff discount will receive 50 cents per item of full size Qualifying Lush Packaging towards their eligible purchase. All other terms remain the same.

General

  1. This Scheme will continue subject to review and further communication.
  2. The scheme does not apply to stores outside of Australia.
  3. Lush reserves the right to terminate, withdraw or amend this Scheme at any time without liability to any entrant or other person, subject to any applicable laws on a month’s notice, such notice to be given on this page.
  4. Lush’s decision relating to the Scheme, including but not limited to the determination of Qualifying Packaging is final and no discussions or correspondence with entrants or any other person will be entered into.
  5. To the maximum extent permitted by law Lush and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss), or for personal injury or death suffered or sustained in connection with the Scheme.
  6. Reference to money amounts are stated in Australian Currency.
  7.  These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales. In the event of any matter or dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, you and we shall submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
