Damas Del Sol. A colourful, reusable bubble bar composed of a thin, wooden handle stick with a large, bright orange butterfly-shaped bubble bar on top. The butterfly has black edges and detailing.

Originally created for Día De Muertos celebrations, this brightly coloured butterfly has since grown wings! Inspired by the late Homero Gómez’s love and dedication to preserving the Monarca butterflies in Michoacán, Mexico and the beautiful forests they inhabit, the profits from this product will be granted to Mexican-based lawyers and advocates who provide legal support to human rights activists, land defenders and water protectors facing unjust criminalisation and threat. Their work continues, and so does our - we invite you to stand in solidarity with them with the sales of Damas del Sol.

 100% of sales price (minus tax and cost of goods) from this bubble bar will help provide legal support to Mexican land and human rights defenders. Homero Gomez's disappearance and subsequent murder was deeply shocking, but tragically, not an isolated incident. His murder has increased awareness of the desperate need for funding and legal support for those who continue to fearlessly advocate for land protection and human rights against organised crime.

Ana Oviedo from our Leeds store helped to create this Damas del Sol bubbler and shares her inspiration behind it. - “This product is a homage to Homero Gómez for all his love, work and passion to preserve the Monarca butterflies and the beautiful forests in Michoacán, México. He was a very loved activist who spent most of his time studying, understanding and protecting the Monarca butterflies. He unfortunately passed away in 2020 due to the same organised crime that has endangered his ‘ladies of the sun’, as he used to call them.”
