Egenskaper
Natural
Fragrant rosemary infuses in humectant glycerine so it can grasp its properties and better deliver them to the skin.
Where do we get these ingredients?
Like most herbs that Lush uses, rosemary is purchased through a distributor. They source products from different countries depending on seasonality and stock availability. When it comes to glycerine, it is completely palm-free and vegan-friendly. The one purchased by the British Lush factory is derived from rapeseed oil grown in the UK.
With seven manufacturing sites across the globe, this information may vary depending on where your Lush products were made.
What are the benefits for your skin?
- Rosemary is antibacterial and antifungal but also soothing - a great combination of effects that is thought to calm and prevent acne and scarring.
- As a humectant, glycerine moisturises the skin by absorbing and carrying water into itself.
- Glycerine’s absorbing qualities also help create an inhospitable environment for microbes, reducing the need for preservatives in a product blend.
Unique stories
Glycerine is a by-product of soap manufacturing and can be either synthetic or derived from plants or animals. When a caustic or highly alkaline material like sodium hydroxide is added to animal fats or vegetable oils (such as olive or coconut) glycerine is formed along with a fatty part, which is actually soap.
