Ingredient
Marigold Petals
Calendula officinalis
Benefits
Natural
For centuries, marigold's effects were well documented by herbalists to help soothe irritated skin. Today, we use the petals to soothe and calm troubled skin; it's also mild enough for sensitive types.
Marigolds are orange, daisy-like flowers that grow from an ornamental plant called calendula officinalis. Saint Hildegard von Bingen is credited with naming it "marigold" in honor of the Virgin Mary, a portmanteau of Mary's gold.
