The Rosa canina plant, or dog rose, is a wild species of rose that thrives alongside country footpaths. After flowering, the plant grows small fruits of a vibrant red color that enliven winter’s leafless landscapes. Called rose hips, these fruits have a variety of uses, culinary and medicinal.
