Sicilian Lemon Oil

Our Sicilian lemon oil comes directly from a supplier in Sicily. We use it for its astringent and cleansing properties. Lemon oil is extracted from the rind and can require up to 3000 lemons to produce just one kilogram of this pale, yellow-green oil.

Citrus limonum is a thorny evergreen tree with irregular branches bearing shiny oval leaves. It produces white, pink-tinged strongly perfumed flowers, which turn into berries - the lemon fruit. Lemon oil is extracted from the rind by cold expression.
