Black Tea Infusion
Camellia Sinensis
Benefits
Natural
Truly, there is nothing more comforting than setting the world to rights over steaming hot brew. So, what if we add that brew to our fresh handmade products and set our skin to rights too?
Black tea comes from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis shrub, native to China and grown widely across Asia. More oxidised than other types of tea, black tea tends to have a stronger flavour profile. It contains caffeine and antioxidants, which offer wonderful benefits when ingested and when applied topically.
What is an infusion?
Lush make infusions in-house, using ingredients carefully selected for the properties they impart to products. Just like making a pot of tea at home, we steep dried black tea leaves in hot water, then remove the leaves once infused. Only this time, we add the infusion to our favourite carefully balanced formulas, instead of our favourite mug.
What are the benefits of black tea infusion?
- Smooths supple skin
- Shiny hair
Antioxidant-rich and high in caffeine, black tea infusion has properties that support a firmer, more radiant complexion. Water infused with black tea has been used for centuries as a rinse to keep hair looking tip-top. It’s believed that the caffeine and tannin content encourage scalp health and hair growth, and can enhance darker hair colours.
