Isn’t olive a mighty fruit? It smells amazing, tastes amazing and contains a golden oil full of benefits.
Where does Lush purchase extra virgin olive oil?
In our quantitative ingredient lists, ‘extra virgin olive oil’ is an umbrella name for olive oils from several different sources, all of the same quality. If your Lush product has been manufactured in the UK, it means that the oil can come from any of our suppliers depending on availability. These are the Marda Permaculture Farm in Palestine, the Sindyanna cooperative in Israel, and four different organic sources in Turkey, Lebanon, Sicily and Spain.
With seven manufacturing sites across the globe, this information may vary depending on where your Lush products were made.
What are the benefits of olive oil for the skin and hair?
- Readily absorbed, it offers lightweight moisture.
- It protects and conditions the skin and hair, improving their strength.
- It gives the skin a healthy glow.
- It makes the hair shine.
The oil’s lightweight feel is due to its squalene content, a compound that can also be found in human sebum. ‘Accepted’ well by the skin, it allows the oil to help restore a healthy level of moisture.
